The C.S.S. Hunley

The C.S.S. Hunley. Where to start? This is an artillery shell with a porthole in
it. The whole artillery shell gets filled with around 9 gallons of water.
Through the porthole you see a submarine, (the Hunley). The Hunley has a glass
side so that you can see the little sailors inside of it turning the crank that
propelled the Hunley. Bubbles come out of the back of the submarine. There is a
light inside the submarine and also a light above the waterline. The Bubbles
from the sub make the light bounce all over the room that this piece is placed
in. The hull of the ship that the Hunley is attacking, the U.S.S. Housatonic, is
visible through the porthole as well. A brief history of the Hunley is written
on the lid.
This piece is currently being
updated with a fiber-optic system, and will be available to purchase soon for
$2800.
